Piercing

Congratulations on your new decision on your body art. I'm glad to see that you are concerned about your body and what you put in it. I'm going to tell you about our way of piercing and a few tips on picking out a safe and clean place to get pierced. This sheet is also for your reference and has all the information that you will need to have a safe and proper healing process. I'll go over a few important things.

YOUR PROCEDURE
We do things a bit differently then most conventional piercers do. We do all our piercings using the freehand method. We have found that this method is a lot safer, quicker, and is a lot less painful. And what this means is there are no tools involved in your procedure; no forceps, no corks, etc.. The reason being behind this is that forceps don't allow tissue to be in a natural state when lining up, causing you the ache after wards. And they cause tissue damage which is bruising, occasional scraping, and swelling. Plus if you ever talked to anyone about getting pierced using forceps they usually say the worst part of the procedure was the forceps, that's also why we don't use them. We also use all single use items. This insures that you always get a brand new item for all of your piercings, nothing is brought from procedure to procedure so you know it's 100% safe for you. Doing that lets us pierce under a sterile technique. That means everything used in your procedure is sterilized using an autoclave. Gloves, gauze, Jewelry, and needles. Everything remains as sterile as possible until your piercing is complete.

YOUR JEWELRY
There are many different types of Jewelry that can be used for piercings. Everyone has a difference of opinion and everyone can say that there way is the best. I'm going to tell you why a few ways aren't good. Captive bead rings which look like circular hoops sealed by a bead or two threaded beads is commonly used. That isn't a safe way to pierce. The reason being that when pierced with one of these, their is a lot of jewelry exposed to the air, which means anything can land on it, dust, lint, etc., If your piercing moves and this contaminate gets Inside, It gives a higher chance of an infection. This can be avoided by rotating and cleaning your jewelry on a regular basis. But it also prolong your healing process dragging out all the time you can have trouble. There is a Channel on the inside of your piercing, and every time you rotate your jewelry, you break the skin that forms in the channel. And because a lot of the ring sticks out, It gets bumped a lot, and that hurts. Rings also have more weight to them which puts extra pressure on the new piercings which can cause a migration/grow out.

Another way to pierce is by using barbells. These can both be straight or bent with secured balls on each side. This is a better way to pierce but there is still a danger here. If a piercer uses external threaded jewelry for an initial piercing that could cause a lot of problems to. When sending external threaded jewelry thru a fresh piercing it can cause tissue damage and also swelling. That's why we use internal threaded jewelry. This is jewelry that has the threads on the balls so when you send the piece thru it doesn't cause any damage. Using these clears up any problems that I have said above.

The jewelry that we use is of implant grade certified. We have the MSDS sheets on them which shows this. What this means is that your body has a lower chance of rejecting the jewelry, as long as you take care of it, unlike other cheap jewelry.

YOUR HEALING PROCESS
For your healing process you can mostly just have fun and enjoy your piercing. There is no cleaning involved in your procedure. No turning the jewelry, and the less you play with it the better it is and the faster it will heal. And try too keep away from dirty stuff thou. The only thing you have to do is keep it dry. This can be easy thou, all you have to do is when your in the shower, just slap a water proof bandage over it and you'll be good to go. By doing all this your piercing will be healed in one to 3 months. While it is healing you can look for new jewelry and start to pick stuff out. But don't settle for a cheap piece of jewelry, just because your healed doesn't mean that your body can take cheap jewelry. Be smart with what you put in your piercing, and any questions you have call us, we'll be more then happy to help you get a great piece of jewelry that you like.

To have a good oral healing piercing you have a few more precautions to take. Your going to want to get a new tooth brush; avoid using chemicals, this includes toothpaste, mouthwash, and glyoxides. All those make you tongue swell. All you wanna use is distilled water. Don't worry, you only have to do this for 2 weeks. Also try and avoid smoking and drinking. But avoid abuse during the healing process and you'll have a well healed piercing. We ask that after two weeks if you'll come back and give us an update on your piercing. We just want to know that your doing good. If you have any questions we ask that you come here first. Enjoy your piercing.
